Top Korean agency KEYEAST and China's management firm Star Lake Agency have teamed up to target the Asian market for an integrated marketing business of entertainment content.
The move is part of KEYEAST's attempt to create a solid platform for the agency's affiliated artists, including Kim Hyun-joong and Ju Ji-hoon, to actively engage with wider networks in the region, KEYEAST said in a press release Tuesday.
"We're expecting our partnership with SLA will create the synergy effect between the two firms' management know-hows and business networks," a KEAYEAST official said in the statement.
Through the partnership, the actors and actresses of KEYEAST will gain more opportunity to expand their activities into China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia.
"Despite the absence of their frequent local activities, the popularity of actors Ju Ji-hoon, Kim Hyun-joong and Kim Soo-hyun in China have increased through various online channels including social networking services," the official noted, adding that Kim Hyun-joong had over a record number of 230,000 followers as a foreign artist on the day of opening his Weibo account in China.
KEYEAST and SLA have worked together in the past. The two firms published Hallyu actor Bae Yong-joon's photo essay "Discovering the Beauty of Korea" in China two years ago, and hosted Kim Hyun-joong's successful opening stage at the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games.
