TVXQ and Kim Hyun Joong have achieved gold status in Japan.
The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) announced that TVXQ’s latest single “Android” and its Japan concert tour DVD ‘Tone’ have both been certified ‘Gold’, after selling more than 100,000 copies.
In addition, Kim Hyun Joong has also registered high sales of around 183,000 copies in just a week after his new single ‘HEAT’ went on sale on July 4, giving the singer a ‘Gold’ certification as well.
The success of both records was predictable, as they easily moved over 100,000 records in just a week after the album’s release. The two stars have been breaking numerous records which have been built by themselves or former Hallyu stars on Oricon’s chart.
Meanwhile, TVXQ completed a large-scale tour concert for 550,000 fans, and also concluded a fan meet with 100,000 fans while Kim Hyun Joong is currently busy filming his new drama, City Conquest’.

Singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong has wrapped up his overseas activities to focus on his drama.
From this January, Kim Hyun Joong has been running his promotion in Japan after releasing his Japanese debut single “Kiss Kiss/Lucky Guy”. In May, the singer launched his ‘Kim Hyun Joong Fan Meeting Tour 2012’ and toured five Asian countries, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and Thailand.
His second Japanese album ‘HEAT’, which was released in July, ranked #1 on the Oricon daily and weekly charts, selling a total of 200,000 albums in the country. He also topped on several music charts including, MTV chart in Taiwan, mobile ringtone download chart, Amazon Japan MP3 download world chart.
His great achievement in Japan solidified his position as an Asian super star. He returned to Korea after finishing 7 months of overseas promotions, and will now be focusing on his new drama ‘City Conquest‘ for the rest of the year.
