Hallyu star Kim Hyun Joong continue to solidify his status in Japan, topping the Oricon weekly chart with second Japanese single, “HEAT”.

The star rose to the top of the Oricon Daily Chart on July 4 after selling 140,000 copies on its first day. Kim Hyun Joong has then registered high sales of around 183,000 copies in just a week, easily topping the Oricon Weekly Chart.

This is a record-breaking feat for the singer, whose Japanese debut single “Kiss Kiss/Lucky Guy” came in second place on the same chart with 122,000 editions sold in January. 

“HEAT” is the fifth foreign artist’s solo single that ranked first on the Oricon’s weekly chart in the first week of its release, and the third most number of sales.

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong will also hold two sets of his showcase “Kim Hyun Joong “HEAT” 2012 in JAPAN” in front of a 60,000 audience at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan on July 14 and 15.
