Kim Hyun-joong, a charismatic artist, kept his promise to hold his Asia Tour Concert and Singapore was lucky enough to be chosen for his first stop.

The Charming Prince arrived in Singapore on May 2 around 1:30 p.m. local time. He kept his promises and arrived earlier before his concert to experience Singapore.

A press conference was held in the evening at Fairmont Hotel where he was staying. As expected, hundreds of media both from within and outside the country came to the place. He stunned the press again as various questions were answered friendly, wisely, and humbly. Compliments flew like a flood from various parties.

Hyun-joong did a rehearsal for two days in a row on May 3 and 4, proving that the prince would do his best for 3,000 fans attending this great event.

We were there as representatives of Henecia Indonesia. We arrived at 3:30 p.m. at Singapore Indoor Stadium. Fans from various countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, and Indonesia, united to support him and each of us brought banners representing our own nation.

Indonesian representatives consisted of 3 main fan groups, Boys Before Flower Indonesia (BBFI), Hyunited 6686, and Henecia_INA, united together as one entity called Henecia Indonesia to support this fan meeting. By making Henecia Indonesia T-shirts, which were worn at the fan meeting, we showed our presence, too, by giving one to Hyun-joong.

Exclusive merchandise from Hyun-joong, an U:ZOOSIN T-shirt and brooch, were shared at 5 p.m.

At about 7:15 p.m., fans were welcomed to enter the stadium. We were very enthusiastic and waited eagerly, even though the show had not yet begun. As our eyes focused on the front where an elderly grandmother with cheerful face was waiting patiently for entry and an 8-year-old girl was attending, Kim proved to the world that fans are not limited by age. We felt that this fan meeting would become unforgettable moment to be experienced by fans throughout the world.

We have great gratitude for RiTS as the promoter of the Hyun-joong Singapore Fan Meeting 2012, since they gave us strategic seats in the Arena category, where we could see Hyun-joong’s performance clearly and, even more, we could place our Henecia Indonesia banner in perfect place to show him our presence.

The event started spectacularly. We were astonished by modern technology along with a stunning laser show accompanied the opening of the Fan Meeting. Remaining in our thoughts, Hyun-joong said that he designed this fan meeting using the concept of a mini-concert, and, once again, he kept his promise. A big “awesome” flew from every single fan attending the fan meeting.

He sang 14 songs overall. With a unique voice and perfectly paced along with outstanding dance, “Let me go” and “Break down” were sung with tremendous and remarkable energy, as was the next song, which was the controversial “Please”.

It was beyond our expectation to know that this song would be sung and we were able to watch it live. With the a gentle yet charismatic voice, ‘Thank you’ was sung, and caused us and Hyun-joong himself to emotionally burst in tears. He said he felt singing this song was a way to express his gratitude to the fans.

“Hapiness Is..” and “Because I’m Stupid” were sung passionately to perfection and made myself as representative of BBFI deeply moved. We’re really proud he sang something from the OST of his first drama and that he prepared a special arrangement for that song, which he delivered in English. “Happiness without you baby, I can’t even imagine it” was shown on the screen and he led the audience to sing along with him.

When “Kiss Kiss” was sung, he came out dressed in a white shirt and faded jeans to show his boyish character. Seeing him in white made him look even more like an angel. Was it overstated? Not at all for us. The warm connection remained when he carried a huge teddy bear and walked down the stage. Syakirah was the lucky fan who was given the teddy bear.

“Na Neun Ne Namjaya” floated from Hyun-joong’s lips, which made us break into tears and once again we saw him cry as well while singing.

“Smile” was performed live for the very first time. All of us in Singapore audience felt lucky for the
opportunity as well.

A talk-show session was run with a humble smile as he promised to hold a full concert next year after his latest drama airs. He convinced us that he would work even harder to do his best. We will always wait for Hyun-joong, although a year is still long way to go, because we know he will keep his promises.

Generally as in other fan meetings, there were games conducted and fans were involved. A game called “Do you think what I’m thinking?” was led by the emcee, then there was the Chinese game called paper-scissor-rock, and then followed Hyun-joong’s posing with fans. The winner could have pictures with him taken by a Polaroid camera.

His latest digital single “Marry Me/Marry You” was sung sweetly. The single, which earned praise throughout Asia, was extremely packed with a chic style by Hyun-joong himself that made us feel like a bride. Those feelings were extraordinary and totally hard to describe in words.

Songs from his latest album, “Lucky Guy”, which was fought for by Indonesian distribution labels and eventually produced by Warner Indonesia, “Do You Like That” and “Lucky Guy” were sung. We heard that this album was a best seller, even in Indonesia.

Wearing a red suit and sporting a well-known funky style complete with sunglasses, Hyun-joong brought his performance to different level for us by using a confetti effect which we thought was a genius idea. We’re lucky to be his fans.

His latest song “If You’re Like Me”, which from the original soundtrack for the Korean drama Wedding Scheme, was sung and drove us hysterical, almost shouting “Yes! We will always like you, Hyun-joong!” Indeed, without any doubt.

Just before the encore, “One More Time”, which is from the OST of Naughty Kiss was performed from the main entrance. As he passed in front of our seats, we shouted to him “Indonesa wants Hyun-joong!” Yes! He finally looked up, smiled, and waved to us as he walked to the stage for “Lucky Gut”, his encore. We forgot everything, yet we stood up, jumped, danced, and sang along with him with full excitement and energy. All just for him, our prince, in the first quarter.

It was the time awaited by Hyun-joong’s fans, the HI5 session, or more likely the handshake session. Don’t bother to ask how we felt, because we were finally thrilled to have a chance for handshaking with him. We never thought we could see the superstar personally.

He shook the hands of 3,000 fans, which took 1 hour and 15 minutes. We’re proud of him, not only for his strong desire to recognize his fans personally and to memorize them as much as he could, but he literally shook our hands, not just a cheeky touch. He squeezed our hand tightly.

He is the best Korean solo artist. There is no doubt about his popularity. He never stopped saying thank you to everyone who shook his hand, which was as smooth as a feather. I think the secret could be known as The Face Shop successfully has a brand ambassador, which is Hyun-joong, himself.

Praise from fans flew as remarkable moment captured when he walked off the stage to a grandmother fan, not only for a handshake but also warm hug. Hyun-joong didn’t wipe his hand even once and didn’t feel disgust. No wonder praises flooded him for the way he treated his fans, that would never be done by other artists in their fan meetings. He’s more than just an idol.

We bought tickets for the fan meeting, but what we experience was surprisingly beyond our expectations and was such a priceless unforgettable moment.

Hyun-joong is a prince who always keeps his promises. His exceptional charisma was embraced by his fans and that’s why we’re proud to grow with him. Our faith will never fade as we believe when the time comes, our beloved country Indonesia will be his next destination too. Hyun-joong, Indonesia will always be waiting for you.
