The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced on August 5 that the popular songs including Kim Hyun Joong’s “Please” and music videos such as TVXQ’s “Before You Go,” were decided to be harmful to teens on the ground that they have something suggestive in their lyrics and video images.
In addition, hip-hop songs were largely included such as DJ DOC’s “Tonight,” and the songs of Cream Team, an emerging star of the hip hop music, for expletives and violent and lascivious expressions.
As for the songs included in the black list, they have to be marked as “harmful content,” forbidden from being sold to the teens under the age of 19.
